The February birth flowers are the violet and the primrose. The violet stands for modesty and loyalty, and the primrose for youth.
Violet
Violets are small woodland flowers with heart-shaped leaves and a sweet, powdery scent. Sweet violets have been candied for cakes for centuries, and the flower gave its name to a color.
Primrose
The primrose is one of the first flowers of the year, and its name comes from the Latin prima rosa, meaning first rose. Its pale yellow blooms have long been tied to youth and new love.
